If I close my eyes I can see us there,

The image fills my mind as I lie alone,

Remembering how this love was all I needed,

And knowing it's still what keeps me breathing.

But now you're so far away yet you're still here,

I try to bring you close to me but I fail,

The time is gone when you cared about me,

Now all that's left of me is my aching heart.

I see you and it's clear you are everything to me,

Yet illuminated is your disregard for me,

Sometimes I wonder how I can still care,
